About the Survey
Hand grip strength (HGS) is the maximum force generated by one’s forearm muscles and is a reliable test when calibrated using standard equipment. Furthermore, it is important to measure as research has stated that HGS can serve as a biomarker of current health status. Studies have also depicted that in individuals with malnutrition, there is almost 26 % low hand grip strength and HGS can be a potential predictor of short and long-term mortality and morbidity. Thus it acts as a screening tool to assess not only upper body strength but overall health and is commonly implied in various nutritional studies and interventions.
A dynamometer is a tool that can evaluate and measure hand grip strength and track the progress in improvement after any therapy.
A simple survey is conducted to evaluate the hand grip strength across different age groups of patients and the detailed report of outcomes shall be calibrated based on the survey.
The survey information can be used in further evaluating the needs on appropriate nutritional needs in the best interest of the patient.
Objective of the Survey
1 .To study the hand grip strength across different age groups, sexes, and weights of patients.
2. By analysing results, address the topics of importance in nutrition.
